FUNDENOR AQ’AB’AL is a non-governmental not-for-profit organization registered in Guatemala with the aim of promoting and encouraging integrated development for rural and urban communities in Guatemala.

FUNDENOR applies the philosophy and methodology: people-centered development by strengthening their own cognitive abilities and practices.

FUNDENOR's office is located in the town of Purulhá, Baja Verapaz, 165 kilometers north of Guatemala City.

 

FUNDENOR AQ’AB’AL

focuses its work in the geographic region known as Verapaz, located in the center-north of the Republic. We are currently carrying out field activities in the municipalities of Purulhá and Rabinal, Baja Verapaz and La Tinta, San Cristobal Verapaz, San Pedro Carcha and Coban in the Alta Verapaz department.

In these areas, FUNDENOR has a long history of partnership with 16 communities. The total population of men and women who directly receive support from FUNDENOR is composed of three different Mayan ethnic groups: Q'eqchi 'Poq'omchi' and Achi.

To be established as a sustainable organization, with local leadership in the implementation of alternative community processes, which contribute to the integral development of persons, families and groups.

FUNDENOR AQ'AB'AL, is a NGO that promotes people centered integrated development, strengthening individual and collective capacities, to facilitate sustainable local solutions, in harmony with nature and cultural diversity..
